Andrea Stamey Barlow

Andrea Stamey Barlow, 77, of Charlotte, formerly of Valdese, departed this life to her heavenly home on Thursday July 30, 2026, at Atrium Health University Hospital following a period of declining health.

Andrea was born on October 9, 1948, in Burke County to the late Rufus Andrew Stamey and Ruth Pauline Sain Stamey. She was a tireless caregiver for her family, always putting their needs first. She was a loving wife and mother, and a dedicated grandmother to Chloe. Andrea excelled professionally as the office manager at Haven Skilled Nursing Facility. Earlier in her career, she served with distinction as a supervisor at the Burke County Board of Elections from 1973 to 1977. A devout woman Andrea was a member of the Valdese First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Barlow; and her brother, Rondal Stamey.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Andy Barlow and wife Melissa of Concord and Eric Barlow of Charlotte; her sister, Gwen Jones and husband Gary of Valdese; her granddaughter, Chloe Barlow; and her nieces and nephews, Ronda Davis, Renee Campbell, Lisa Norris, Tracy Franklin, Missy Jones, Alan Jones, Chad Barlow and Shelia Barlow.

The family will receive friends on Monday August 3, 2026, from 12:00-1:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.

A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with Rev. Dr. Josh Lail officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to St Judes Children’s Hospital or Spina Bifida Association or the hospice of the donor’s choice.
