Arle Ransom Spann, 63, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Arle was born September 25, 1962 in Burke County, to the late Dwight Spann and Rebecca Sellers Spann. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church and worked in the textile industry. Arle could work on anything that had an engine and would probably debate with you on anything explaining why he was right. As a steadfast and loyal companion, he never missed a chance to join a fishing or hunting adventure—and would recount those experiences for years afterward.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew Dalton Lowman.

He is survived by his sisters, Sherry Vines and husband James, and Amanda Lowman; brother, Rondall Spann; niece, Courtney Lowman; close friend, Tony Phillips and numerous hunting buddies.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Berea Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Ellis and Rev. Devin Hildebrand officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church.

Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
