Arther Joe Cannon

Arther Joe Cannon, 81, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Arther was born March 8, 1944 in Catawba County to the late JC Cannon and Lottie Gilland Cannon. He was passionate about outdoor activities, including riding his four-wheeler, deer hunting, fishing, and camping. Arther also enjoyed watching NASCAR.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Larry Joe Cannon, step-daughter, Donna LaFevers; brother, Johnny C. Cannon; and nephews, Billy Eugene Cannon and James Cannon.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Tweed Cannon; step-daughters, Tracy LaFevers, and Lisa Church; grandchildren, Joshua Cook, Amy Harris, Kasey Pritchard, Ashton Church, and Cameron Church; brother, Bill Cannon and wife Wanda; sister, Judy Cannon; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Cannon. Also surviving is his nephew, John Cannon; and niece Christy Bost.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
