Benny Ray Hudson, 80, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Sunday August 23, 2026 at his residence.

Benny was born May 18, 1946 in Cleveland County to the late Osco Hudson and Hazel Huffman Hudson. He was a dedicated member of St. Johns Baptist Church and worked in the textile industry until his retirement. Benny enjoyed farming and taking care of his animals and watching any type of racing.

Benny was a devoted husband to his late wife of fifty years, Judy Hudson; and in addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Duran.

He is survived by his children, Michael Hudson and wife Tracie, Timmy Hudson and wife Becky, and Sharon Morrison; grandchildren, Dillon Hudson, Cameron Hudson, Timmy Hudson, Skylar Hudson and wife Abby, Benny Hudson, Macie Morrison, and Samantha Day and husband Thomas; great-grandchildren Simon Shull, Kiara Shull, Maylee Hudson, and Brantley Hudson; brothers, James Hudson and Tommy Hudson; and sisters, Verdie Goodman, Betty Penland and husband Steve, and Jane Lail and husband Larry.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at St. Johns Baptist Church with Pastor Blain Hudson and Pastor Jason Hoyle officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00-3:00 PM at St. Johns Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
