Betty Jo Snyder Bryan, 77, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday November 7, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family after a period of declining health.

Betty was born in Watauga County January 3, 1949, to the late Loyd and Louise Snyder. She was happily married to Paul Wade Bryan for 50+ years. They had 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren. Betty and Paul both enjoyed visiting Pawley’s Island, especially spending time on the pier fishing together, as well as cheering on their grandchildren in every sport and activity they were involved in. Betty loved the mountains and the beach. She also enjoyed taking weekend trips with her family exploring new places, visiting new restaurants and buffets, as well as watching game shows and reality tv. Betty loved her family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Paul W Bryan, infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth Bryan, her sister, Mildred Rice, and brother, Keith Snyder. She is survived by her two daughters Vicki B Townsend (Tracy) and Paula B Walker (Bobby), grandchildren Katlyn Carpenter, Bryan Walker and Sara Nelson (Beckett) and a great grandson due in March. She is also survived by sisters Georgia Douglas and Linda Farr (Danny), brothers Sam Snyder and Jerry Snyder (Laura), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was a caretaker all her life. In the end, it was our blessing to be able to care for her and keep her in the comfort of her home, with the help of Amorem Hospice (Susan), Danielle, Aunt Linda, and cousin Cindy Thomas. She will forever be cherished and remembered for the years of her unconditional love and support. She was the best mom and nana our family could have ever asked for and will be greatly missed. She will remain in our hearts forever.
