Betty Jean Kelly, 65, of Morganton, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at her residence, following a period of declining health.

Betty was born on June 2, 1961, in Burke County to the late William Melvin Kelly Sr. and Earlene Church Kelly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Clark and a brother, Willam Kelly Jr.

Surviving are her two children, Mary Elizabeth Kelly Dugger and husband Ruben of Granite Falls, and Justin Kelly of Granite Falls. Also surviving are three sisters, Mary Ann Kelly, Beulah Annette Brown and husband Junior, Polly Mayfield and husband Timothy, two brothers, Douglas Kelly and Kevin Kelly and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
