Braylen Isaiah Corpening

Braylen Isaiah Corpening, 2, of Hickory, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, following a brief illness.

Braylen was born July 20, 2023 in Burke County, a son of Malcolm Corpening and Destiny Gouge. He loved his siblings, his mommy, and his daddy. He was full of life and love and was often seen with a big smile on his face. Anytime that music was played, he would dance for as long as he could. He loved to dance and was always the light in the room.

He is preceded in passing by an aunt, Chelsea Dawn Buchanan, and a great aunt, Carol Lynn Dubrawsky.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Malcolm Corpening and Destiny Gouge; siblings, Aubree Corpening, Emoareigh Williams, and Silas Corpening; grandparents, “Nana” Doris Longoria, “Mimi” Renee Moody, “Pawpaw” Michael Farmer, “Moomoo” Eldridge McCrimmon, "Pawpaw" Richard Peralta, and Aaron Corpening; greatgrandparents, “Pawpaw” Roger Collins, “Nana” Sherry Collins, Donna Crotts, and Gary Crotts; aunts, Makenzie Buchanan, Adriana Corpening, and April Buff; uncles, Dakota Black, Douglas Woodard, Jr., Michael Dubrawsky, Tyler Crotts, and Gary Lee Crotts; and numerous cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Pastor Micah Narlock officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Heritage Funeral Service from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
