Cathy Powell Deal

Cathy Powell Deal, 74, of Valdese, passed away on Sunday December 28, 2025, at UNC Health Care, Morganton, after a period of declining health.

Cathy was born November 15,1950, in Burke County, a daughter of the late Bill and Ethel Hice Powell. She was a member of East Valdese Baptist Church and retired from UPS with over thirty years of dedicated service.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Chris Deal of the home, a son, Travis Deal and fiancé, Teleisha Johnston of the home and two grandchildren, Aspen Deal and Madix Deal. Also surviving is a lifelong family friend Debbie Hartman Sturky of Myrtle Beach, SC.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday December 31, 2025, at Burke Memorial Park with Tony Robinson officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Valdese Hospital Cancer Center Patient Fund.
