Charles Vincent Smith, 62, of Morganton, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at AMOREM of Burke County following a period of declining health.

Charles was born June 29, 1963 In Buncombe County, a son of the late Thomas Charles and Hattie Margaret Smith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by a sister, Margaret Alice William Smith, and a nephew, Richard Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory include his girlfriend of five years, Rheba Samples; nieces, Annabelle Smith of Charlotte, Ida Hutchinson of Asheville, Francine Benton of Ashton, and Darling Finley of Fayetteville; cousins, Koreem Earles of Hickory and Darrell Potts of Asheville; and a friend like a brother, Lamont Smith of Cherokee.

No services will be held at this time.
