Curtis Paul Cates, 68, of Connelly Springs, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 following a period of declining health.

Curtis was born June 4, 1957 in Roane County, TN, a son of Delcie Kurly. He was a proud United States Army veteran.

He is preceded in passing by a brother, Lee Cates.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 32 years, Angela Cates; mother, Delcie Kurly; son, Cody Cates (Gemile); daughter, Elizabeth Smith; grandchildren, Victor Smith and Kenda Barlow; and sister, Debbie Wilson.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
