Daniel Stephen Brooks

Mr. Daniel Stephen Brooks, 81, of Valdese, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at UNC healthcare Morganton, North Carolina after a brief illness.

Danny was born July 3, 1944 in Charleston, Illinois a son of the late Daniel Young Brooks and Geneva Mae Ballinger Brooks. He had a passion for the open road and was a jack of all trades. He served proudly for his country as a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by two brothers, Charles Brooks and Ronald Brooks.

Surviving are his daughters, Sarah Limon(Daniel) And Amanda Brooks Mendoza(Joseph), His sisters, Jenna Brooks Barnes, and Rebecca Brooks Klatt. Also surviving are his grandchildren Myles ,Chloe Mendoza, Riley, Dylan and Hannah Limon.

At Mr. Brooke’s request, there will not be services at any time. His remains will be entombed In the Western North Carolina Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, North Carolina.
