Danny Carroll Brittain, 66, of Hickory, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at his residence.

Danny was born July 10, 1960 in Burke County to the late Carroll Glen Brittain and Delma Speagle Brittain. Danny was a member of Shoup’s Grove Baptist Church and worked at Drexel Heritage for twenty five years and then Walmart in Hickory for more than ten years. He enjoyed crocheting and making toboggins and Christmas ornaments for the community.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Ronnie and Scott Brittain; and sister, Joyce Hutchinson.

He is survived by several close friends and relatives, that he enjoyed talking to often.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Shoup’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Wiley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A receiving of friends will be held prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church.

Family will gather at the home of James and Annette throughout the week.

Memorials may be made to the church at Shoup’s Grove Baptist Church to the senior group at 7658 Shoup’s Grove Church Rd., Icard, NC 28666.
