Darrell Gene Hudson

Darrell Gene Hudson, 53, of Morganton, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 27, 2025 following a brief illness.

Darrell was born November 23, 1971 in Catawba County, a son of Lester Hudson and Patsy Yount Smith. He was a devoted father and loving child. Darrell was sweet and even tempered with a great sense of humor. He was always very thoughtful and willing to listen attentively to anyone.

He was preceded in passing by his nephew, Andrew Hudson; a grandmother, Lora Hudson; and a grandfather, Clyde Yount.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Alexander “Alex” Hudson, and his mother, Deborah Hudson; father, Lester Hudson; mother, Patsy Smith (Alan); brother, Kevin Hudson (Nicole); and sister, Megan Smith Jones (Jesse).

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Pastor Isaac Propst officiating. Interment will follow the service.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 PM to 3 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
