David Thomas Brannock

Jan 25, 1943 — Oct 21, 2026

Hickory

Mr. David Thomas Brannock, 83, of Hickory, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Carolina Rehab Center, following a period of declining health.

David was born on January 25, 1943, in Burke County to the late Thomas Blaine Brannock and Ethel Abigail Spemcer. He was previously employed for many years, in the furniture industry and later as a landscaper.

David was a selfless man who loved his family. He was a true brother, uncle, and friend. His home was always open for others, and resilient spirit enabled him to be the biggest “Champion” for others. David had an infectious laugh and smile. No matter the obstacle, his deep-rooted faith in God enabled him to smile and push through. David showed empathy toward others, which is a rare thing. The hobbies and activities that brought him the most joy were his church, fishing, dancing, singing, traveling to the beach and mountains, a spectator of various sports, especially his grandson’s baseball games, and simply spending time with his children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Jean Brannock, and three siblings, Wanda Isenhour, Jerry Brannock and Ronnie Brannock.

Surviving is a daughter, Lisa Bredickas and husband Vince of Marietta, GA, and one son, D.W. Brannock of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving is a grandson, Chase David Bredickas, and three siblings, Betty Gilbert, Howard Brannock and Diane Trosclair.
