David Grant Dale, 58, of Morganton, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Mission Memorial Hospital following a brief period of declining health.

David was born February 17, 1968 in Burke County to Grant Dale II and Sharon Rose Mace. He owned and operated a mobile mechanic business and enjoyed working on all types of vehicles.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Homer B. Dale and Gertrude Poteat Dale; maternal grandparents, Paul B. Mace and Francis Mace Fredell; uncles, Jack B. Dale, Britt H. Dale, Charles Burgin, and James Gallion; and aunts, Peggy Chapman, and Barbara Tallent.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Michael Dale, Jeffrey Dale, and Nathan Dale; sister, Deborah Maynard and husband Chris; two uncles; two aunts; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Morganton Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Qurollo, and Rev. Dean Gurley officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Friday at the church.
