Deborah Leigh Bernard (Debbie) passed away April 13, 2026. Debbie was born in Morganton, North Carolina on December 10,1954 and grew up in Connelly Springs, North Carolina. 

She is survived by her sisters Mary Helen (Bernard) Harmon (Connelly Springs, NC) and Beverly (Bernard) Tyner (Chattanooga, TN). She is also survived by her brother Clint Bernard (Asheville, NC). She dearly loved her nieces Leslie Tyner, Susan Palma-Tyner, Jennifer Holt, and nephew Harrison Tyner. She held a special place in her heart for great nephews Emerson, Hugo and Marcelo along with her great niece Harlow. Additionally, Debbie is survived by her special cousins Rick and Beth Davis (Connelly Springs, NC).

First and foremost, Debbie was a Christian who loved the Lord and she also enjoyed attending church on a regular basis. Reading was a passion of hers and she read her Bible daily and also enjoyed historical books. Debbie was kind and loving. Celebrating loved ones on birthdays and on special holidays was of upmost importance to Debbie. She was always making sure her cards were the first to arrive. Debbie deeply loved her mother, Helen Bernard, and looked forward to seeing her again in Heaven.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Mountain View Cemetery, 421 US 70 Connelly Springs, NC 28612.
