Dennis Carl Roland, 78, of Valdese, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at College Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center following a period of declining health.

Dennis was born January 27, 1947, in McDowell County, a son of the late Rev. Carl and Lillian Wyatt Roland. He loved to fish and spend time outdoors. His yard was always immaculate. He was a proud Army veteran and business owner of Pro-Air, Inc. Most of all, he was a loving father.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by a sister, Beverly Baker.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 25 years, Barbara Roland; two children, Joanna Roland Johnson (Cale) and Daniel Carl Roland; two stepchildren, Melissa “Missy” Vaughn (Chris) and Steve Proctor (Michelle); one grandson, Reid Johnson; five step grandchildren, Hayden Vaughn, Maggie Vaughn, Peyton Proctor, Allie Proctor, and Zack Proctor; and sisters and brothers, Linda Rhyne of Marion, Judy Edwards of Marion, Jerry Roland of Bessemer City, and John Roland of Morganton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Gathering of Friends will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
