Dennis was born February 14, 1946 in Valdese, NC to the late Clifton Warlick, Father, and late, Isabelle Paige Warlick, Mother. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Brooks Paige Warlick, and a niece, DeeDee Woodard, who passed at birth, and great nephew, Gabriel Ollis, who passed at birth.
Dennis was a veteran and served his country in the United States Navy for three and one-half years. He went to school with the class of ’64 at Valdese High School. He left Valdese High School to join the US Navy and serve his country and came back to Valdese to make his home where he loved so many.
Dennis was a faithful member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church for twenty years until present and previously Rutherford College First Baptist Church for twenty-one years. He loved the Lord and served Him in many areas over his lifetime. He served as a Deacon at both churches, Sunday School Teacher, RA Leader, Choir member, Greeter, Cooking Team Server, and helped take care of the flower beds of Calvary FWBC along with his wife, Pat, for many years. He gave his life to the Lord at the age of twenty-seven and continued to live a faithful Christian life and in service to his Lord.
Dennis was employed at Crestline Furniture for twenty years and Corning, Inc., for ten years. After retirement, he worked various jobs at Grace Hospital in Morganton, Griffith Security, Hickory, and Handicare, Inc., Drexel, NC.
He loved his family very much and loved spending time with them. He especially enjoyed going to Myrtle Beach for vacations each year with his family.
His greatest desire was to see all of his family members come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ so he would be able to be reunited with them again in Heaven one day.
One of his greatest qualities was that he never met a stranger. He loved people and will be remembered for his friendly smile and positive attitude with everyone he came in contact with everywhere. He was a friend to everyone he met and always wanted to bring a little happiness to each person he met. He felt that life was too short to be unfriendly. He was always happy and upbeat. He was loved by young and old. He loved to serve as Greeter in his church because he got to greet everyone with a smile, hug, or handshake on Sunday mornings.
Heritage Funeral Service will be assisting the family with the services.
There will be no receiving, but a Celebration of Life service on Friday, May 29th at 3 PM at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church located at 212 Malcolm Boulevard, near Bojangles, in Rutherford College, NC. Rev. Freddy Lindsey will be officiating.
The interment will be at Calvary Memorial Gardens on Carson Street in Connelly Springs.
