Dianna Newton Hudson, 76, of Morganton, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Carolina Rehab Center of Burke following a period of declining health.

Dianna was born on December 4, 1949, in Burke County to the late Martin Edison Newton and Sarah Cook Newton. Affectionately called the “Mother Hen” of her family, she cherished her grandchildren deeply and was a devoted member of Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, David Newton; and sister, Janet Goins.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Hudson; daughter, Loria Buff and husband Shannon; grandchildren, Toby Hill, Christen Buff, and Brooke Lowery and husband Jonathan; and great-grandchildren, Ellie Shae Hill, and Jonathan Chase Lowery. She is also survived by her brothers, Bryan Newton and wife Sherry, and Joe Newton and wife Shirley; sister, Lisa Payne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Danny McNeely officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the church.
