Doris Rebecca Chapman Hoilman, 67, of Morganton, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026 at UNC Blue Ridge Medical Center following a brief illness.

Doris was born November 1, 1958 in Burke County, to the late Frank Chapman and Elsie Mae Smith Chapman. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by so many.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Hoilman; and sisters, Bonnie Ross, Eula Baker, Shirley Tigue, Edith Pritchard, Azalee Franklin, Judy Abee, and Betty Carter.

She is survived by her sons, Rassie Rector and wife Kisha, and Joseph Rector; daughter, Jessica Riggs and husband Jonathan; grandchildren, Tyler, Kaleb, Kyla, Morgan, Savannah, Hayden, Trever, and Noah; twelve great-grandchildren; and sisters, Carol Norvil, Diane Harvey, and Mattie “Genene” Satterwhite.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.

Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
