Doyle William Johnson

Doyle William Johnson, 75, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Duke University Hospital following a period of declining health.

Doyle was born May 21,1950 in Catawba County to the late Hubert Eugene Johnson and Nelma McGuire Johnson. He retired from Hickory Printing after thirty-six years of service. Doyle was an active member of Mt. Hebron Lutheran Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and Bible study leader. He possessed extensive knowledge of the Bible and often shared his understanding of religious teachings with others. Doyle was passionate about race cars, Southern Rock, and cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known for being unique and having a distinct sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother and father in-law, Bobby and Edna Miller; nephew, Kevin Orders; special uncle, Bill McGuire; and his grand dog, Tucker.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Denise Miller Johnson of fifty-four years; son, Jason Johnson and wife Shanon of New York City; daughter, Holly Johnson of Icard; grandchildren, Lily Johnson and Quinn Johnson both of New York City; and brother, Mackie Johnson and wife Dona of Connelly Springs. Also surviving are sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law, Larry and Linda Orders and Greg and Kay Miller; and nieces, Cindy Orders Jenkins and Bobbie Miller Sigmon.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the dedicated medical staff at Duke University Hospital for their exceptional service and attentive care throughout the extended period of their stay.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Hebron Lutheran Church with Reverend Karin O’Donnell officiating. Burial will follow at Warlicks Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
