Mr. Earl Edward Clark, 85, of Morganton, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Amorem Hospice of Valdese, following a period of declining health.

Earl was born on June 13, 1940, in Burke County to the late Charlie E. Clark and Ida Chapman Clark. He retired from Drexel Furniture, where he worked in the boiler room and in security for over 15 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy E. Clark, a daughter, Rita Faye Clark and by his six siblings.

Surviving is his beloved wife of the home, Gladys Pearson Clark, and one son, Allan Clark of Morganton. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jessica Panchaud and husband Kyle, Tamara Clark, and Ryan Clark and wife Alex, and five great-grandchildren: Adam Lowery, Caiden Panchaud, Remi and Caliber Hildebran, and Rylee Clark.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2:00 P.M., in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with Richard Lowery officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
