Edna Bradshaw Newcomb

Edna Bradshaw Newcomb, 86, of Valdese, departed this life to her heavenly home on Sunday October 25, 2026 at her residence.

Edna was born on February 8, 1940 in Burke County to the late Manley Wilson Bradshaw and Lena Smith Bradshaw. Ednas life was marked by both service and creativity. She was employed by Wachovia Bank and later found her true calling as a dedicated caregiver, providing comfort and support to many elderly individuals in her community. Her artistic spirit flourished in the kitchen where she became a beloved local baker, crafting countless wedding cakes, and operated The Cookie Peddler in Morganton, leaving a legacy of sweetness in every celebration she touched. She was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Myra Daugherty White; and her sister-in-law, Janice Bradshaw.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Lisa Langley of the home; her brothers, John Bradshaw; Ben Bradshaw and wife Barbara; and Willie Bradshaw and wife Sherri, all of Valdese; her grandchildren, Jesse Adkinson and wife Jessica and Meah White and Chris Stamey; her great grandchildren, Layla, Jayden and Khloe Adkinson; and her special friends, Michael Browning, Charles White and David Sain; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday October 31, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Valdese.

A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Stephen Collins and Rev. Thom Hartman officiating.
