Edward Harlon Powell

Edward Harlon “Ebb” Powell, 73, of Morganton, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Amorem in Caldwell County, following a period of declining health.

Ebb was born October 31, 1951 in Burke County to the late Joe Mack Powell Sr. and Lois Goff Powell. He was a member of The Rising Church in Morganton and the DAV in Burke County. Ebb served honorably in the United States Army. He worked as a drywall installer from the time he was a teenager to retirement, loved baseball and watching the NY Yankees, tending to his flower garden at home, and scooting on his scooter.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Joe Mack Powell Jr; and sister, Sheena Winkler.

He is survived by his daughters, Angela, Savannah, and Kayla; his grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brothers, Charles Powell and wife Kathy and Donnie Powell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Ebb’s request, there will be no services.
