Mr. Edwin Steve Wilson Sr., 83, of Icard, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at his residence, following a period of declining health.

Edwin was born on December 14, 1941 in Cleveland County to the late Leroy Self Wilson and Essie Geneva Brittain Wilson. He was a retired supervisor in the textile industry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sophia Deanna Buchanan, and nine siblings.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Leona Childers Wilson of the home, two sons, Shannon Wilson and wife Stephanie, Edwin Wilson Jr. and wife Roanna, and four daughters, Stephanie Smith and husband Steve, Sandra Leger, Sonya Stephens and husband Eddie, and Sheryl Tomlin and husband Mike. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Connelly Springs.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
