Ella Mae Settlemyre Martin

Mrs. Ella Mae Settlemyre Martin, 95, of Valdese, went to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday August 13, 2025, at Hickory Village, after a period of declining health.

Mrs. Martin was born September 7, 1929, in Burke County, a daughter of the late Harvey and Rose Christine Carswell Settlemyre. She was a faithful member of the River of Life Church and retired as a seamstress, after many years of service, from Alba Waldensian Hosiery Mill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Martin and a daughter, Marcella Martin.

She is survived by a number of loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Ella Mae Settlemyre Martin will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 26, 2025, at the River of Life Church in Valdese with Rev. Allen King officiating. Interment will follow in the Burke Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11:00 AM Tuesday at the River of Life Church.
