Eric William Hastings

Eric William “Bill” Hastings, 63, of Morganton, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Burke Long Term Care following a period of declining health.

Bill was born April 2, 1962 in Burke County to the late Jerry Hastings and Betty Pritchard Stewart.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the man that raised him, Thurman Stewart; brothers, Ricky Hastings, and Aaron Hastings; and numerous uncles and an aunt.

He is survived by his children, Erica Hastings (Justin Antley), Matthew Hastings, Jeremy Hastings, and Cierra Hastings; grandchildren, Zachariah, Ethan, Arielle, and Emily; half-brothers, Michael Hastings and Johnny Lewis and wife Teresa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A joint memorial service will be held for Bill and his mother, Betty Stewart, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service. The family will receive friends following the service.
