Fred Owens Berry

Fred Owens Berry, 93, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Frye Regional Hospital following a period of declining health.

Fred was born May 12, 1932 in Burke County to the late Andrew Berry and Bertha Thorne Berry. He served honorably in the United States Army and retired at the age of seventy five from Hickory Hill Furniture. Fred loved to work, fish, and was a collector of many things.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Berry, Everette Berry, and Rev. Thomas Berry; sisters, Bessie Berry Sharpe, Myrtis Brittain, and Dorothy Munday; and granddaughter, Sandy Renee Berry.

He is survived by his son, Alan Andrew Berry and wife Janet; great grandson, William Hunter Berry Deaton; stepchildren, Cyndra Lippard and husband Charles; step-grandchildren, Kimperly Wilson and Andrew Wilson; sister-in-law, Emma Aileen Brittain Berry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
