Harlan Alvin "Peanut" Greene

Harlan Alvin “Peanut” Greene, 72, of Morganton, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 at UNC Health Blue Ridge of Morganton following a period of declining health.

Peanut was born August 16, 1953 in Mecklenburg County, a son of the late Clarence and Ethel Mae Melton Greene. He had a passion of truck driving and worked as a driver for forty-seven years. His favorite hobby was riding his motorcycle, and he spent as much time riding as he could. He took great pride in his bike and all his vehicles.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Dudley Greene; sisters, Sylvia Scott (Warren) and Adria Cook; special niece, Cozette Townsend (Phil); his trucking buddy and bonus brother, Gary Webb; and numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 12 PM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Pastor Rufus Edmisten.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 11 AM to 12 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
