Helen Louise Melton, 93, of Vale, NC passed away Thursday July 9, 2026, at her residence after a period of declining health.

Mrs. Melton was born May 21,1933, in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late Ed and Ella Smith Nelson. She retired from the furniture manufacturing business after many years of service. Helen spent most of her life in the state of Mississippi until coming back to live here in 2026. She was a Christian lady and put her trust in the Lord until the very end.

Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by her eleven brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday July 12, 2026, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lenoir with Rev. Patrick Mourglea officiating.
