Herman DeLane Fulbright, 93, of Morganton, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026 at Autumn Care of Drexel following a period of declining health.

Herman was born November 15, 1932 in Burke County to the late Kelly Oliver Fulbright and Fennie Knox Fulbright. He served honorably in the United States Navy and worked for over forty years as a contractor for Brinkley Lumber Company in Connelly Springs. Herman was a faithful member of High Peak Baptist Church for over fifty-six years and served as a Deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Oleta Aikens Fulbright; son, Michael Todd Fulbright of Asheville; and brothers, Ted Fulbright and wife Doris of Connelly Springs, and Mike Fulbright and wife Reba of Connelly Springs.

The family would like to thank the staff of Medi Home Care and Autumn Care of Drexel for the special care that was given to Herman.

A private graveside service will be held by the family at a later date at High Peak Baptist Church Cemetery.

Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
