James Napolean Bolick, 93, of Valdese, passed away on Thursday May 14, 2026, at Mission Hospital, Asheville, after several years of declining health.

Mr. Bolick was born May 25, 1932, in Catawba County, a son of the late Simon and Annie Stine Bolick. James retired as a machinist, but his first love was working in his garden. He was raised on a four-hundred-acre farm, working the soil, planting crops and learned to can and preserve them at an early age.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlsie Buff Bolick, a son David Bolick and grand-daughter, Phoebe Bolick.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Mike Bolick and wife Rita of Drexel, daughter, Victoria Conyers and husband Bobby Baldridge of Valdese, and son Andrew Bolick of Lenoir, one brother, Ervin Bolick of Hickory and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Thursday May 21, 2026, at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.

A Graveside Service will be held at 4:30 P.M. Thursday May 21, 2026, at Burke Memorial Park.
