Mrs. Janet Elaine Carswell Kanupp, 61, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at her residence, following a period of declining health.

Janet was born on February 27, 1965, in Burke County to the late Whouston “Dump” Carswell and Ruth Swink Carswell. She was a longtime member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church and was employed as a maintenance administrator for the CATALER Corp. in Lincolnton. She loved spending time with her grandbabies and enjoyed scrapbooking with her friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Dean Carswell.

Surviving is her husband, Kevin Lee Kanupp of the home, her son, Lynn Lee Kanupp and wife Whitney of Connelly Springs, and her daughter, Leslee Kanupp of Connelly Springs. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Baylee and Tripp, and one brother, Jason Carswell and wife Kelly.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Curtis Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
