Janice Nichols Puckett, 80, of Valdese, passed away on Tuesday October 13, 2026, at Carolina Caring Hospice, after a period of declining health.

Janice was born November 25, 1945 in Burke County, a daughter of the late Rev. Reyno and Geneva Berry Nichols. She retired as an accounts payable clerk with Rontane Wood Pallett Manufacturing Co. Janice was an active member of United Baptist Church, a loving sister and aunt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, three brothers, a nephew, and a niece.

Those left to cherish her memories are her sister, Joyce Nichols, a brother, Van Nichols, a special caregiver niece Christy Nichols, two stepsons, two step grandchildren, one step-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews, who she loved very much.

Funeral Services for Janice Nichols Puckett will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday October 18, 2026 at United Baptist Church with Doug Powell and Steve Ramsey officiating.

Interment will follow in the United Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 3:00 P.M. at United Baptist Church.
