Mr. Jeremiah Andrew Turpin, 47, of Valdese passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Jeremiah was born on December 22, 1978, in Burke County to Sherry Poarch Gilley and the late Carlton Turpin. He was previously employed in the landscaping industry.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and by several aunts and uncles.

Surviving is his mother, Sherry Gilley of the home, his sister Heather Turpin of Valdese, and a brother Joshua Turpin and wife Robin of Georgia. Also surviving are two nieces, Haili Lail and Brooke Davis, a nephew, Andrew Auten, and several great nieces and nephews.

A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
