Jerome Scott Covington, 44, of Maiden, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at his home.

Jerome was born March 8, 1981 in Catawba County to the late Wanda Covington. He worked as a truck loader and loved to fish in his spare time.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his uncle and the man that helped raise him, Billy White.

He is survived by his sister, Jodie Cantrell and husband Dakota; nephews, Landon Adams, Desmond Adams, and Abram Cantrell; aunt, Donna White; cousins, Billy White (Sierra Jenkins), Stacy Hinson, Bear Hinson, Jada White, Lexi White, and TJ Huffman; and his step-father Myron "Pup" Hildebran who played a meaningful role in raising him. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
