Jerry "J.R." Louis Russo, Sr.

Jerry “J.R.” Louis Russo, Sr., 83, passed away on Friday October 24, 2025, at his residence, after a period of declining health.

Jerry was born September 29, 1942, in Washington DC, a son of the late Mario and Ruth Newton Russo. He retired as a warehouse manager with Canteen, Inc. Jerry loved his family and being around people. He was known for always driving a clean and sporty hotrod car.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Mackie Lowman, his second wife, Nora Ann Chester and sister Annaree Russo.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Jerry L. (Chip) Russo, Jr, (Donna), Tammy Antoniou (Tracey), Angie Barrier (Jeff) and step-son, Richard Shew (Tracy). Also surviving are his nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday November 2, 2025, in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese with Rev. Charles Howard Ray, III officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Service Valdese.
