Mr. John Louis Huffman, 72, of Morganton, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at his residence, following a period of declining health.

Louis was born on June 17, 1953, in Burke County to the late Clee Edward Huffman and Laura Hudson Huffman. He was a longtime member of Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church in Morganton and was a retired CNA II, working at Broughton Hospital for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam Huffman, and one brother, Jack Huffman.

Surviving is his son, Chad Huffman and wife Amber of Raleigh, and four grandchildren: Addie Huffman, John-Luke Huffman, Anna Huffman and Emma Huffman. Also surviving are his siblings, Gilbert “Eddy” Huffman and wife Brenda of Morganton, Glenda Huffman Buchanan of Decatur, GA, Blaka Huffman Bradley and husband J.C. of Morganton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church, with Rev. Danny McNeilly officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church.
