Johnny Howard Butler

Mr. Johnny Howard Butler, 86, of Morganton, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Grace Heights Nursing Center, following a period of declining health.

Howard was born on April 12, 1939 in Burke County to the late Alonzo Butler and Vernie Walker Butler. He was retired from the furniture manufacturing industry, where he worked for Drexel Heritage, Henredon and others throughout his career.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Earlene Butler, and two brothers, Melvin and Ray Butler.

Surviving is his son, Billy Butler and wife Raine of Morganton, and one grandson. Also surviving is a brother, Horace Butler of Connelly Springs and a sister, Margaret Bradshaw of Hickory.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Solid Rock Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M.
