Johnny Lee Pyatte, 69, of Morganton, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at his home, following a period of declining health.

Johnny was born on March 20, 1956 in Burke County, a son of the late George Lester and Shelba Jean Maltba Pyatte. He served as a captain of the Enola Fire Department for thirty-two years. He was loved and admired by many, and he loved his friends and family deeply. He had a passion for vehicles and was often seen tinkering on his old trucks, and he loved fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty years, Darlene Walker Pyatte; children, Allen Pyatte (Crystal), Andy Pyatte of the home, and Adam Pyatte (Amanda); multiple grandchildren, step grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren; siblings, Karen Pyatte, David Pyatte (Debra), Lisa Pruett (Mark), Scott Pyatte (Angie), and Lori Kincaid (Alan); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 1 PM to 2 PM at Faith Chapel Baptist Church at 959 Summers Road, Valdese, NC 28690 with Pastor David Riddle officiating.

Heritage Funeral Service is assisting the family.
