Jonathon David Payne, 36, of Taylorsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

Jonathon was born February 22, 1990 in Catawba County to David Payne and the late Janet Thompson Payne. A devoted member of Grace Baptist Church, Jonathon was passionate about sharing his faith in Jesus. In his free time, he enjoyed studying theology, reading his Bible, spending time outdoors fishing or in the woods, cooking and savoring delicious meals, and staying active through working out. But most of all he loved to spend time with his family, especially his daughter.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by baby Isaac Payne; and his grandparents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Teague Payne; daughter, Rryzen Payne; brothers, Jordan Payne, Jared Payne and wife Elisha, and Joseph Payne and wife April; sisters, Grace Leger and husband Alex, and Faith Payne and fiance Aiden Bryant. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Sawyer and Josie Payne and Hudson and Hazel Payne.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Bumgarner officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church.
