Julia Diane Lowman, 78, of Valdese, entered into the loving peace of her Lord on Monday December 8, 2025 at Amorem Patient Care Center in Valdese following a period of declining health.

Diane was born on March 28, 1947 in Burke County to the late Odis Hallyburton Lowman and Betty Brittain Lowman. Diane was a 1965 graduate of Valdese High School and later earned her degree from Gardner-Webb University. She dedicated many years of faithful service as an Administrative Secretary for the Rostan family at Waldensian Bakeries in Valdese and later at the Attorney General’s Office at Broughton Hospital in Morganton, where she was known for her professionalism, kindness and steady presence. Diane was a lifelong member of Abee’s Chapel Baptist Church, where her faith, warmth and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She enjoyed playing the piano and sang in the church choir for many years. Diane cared deeply for others and was known for her warm welcoming nature to everyone. She had a gentle, cute sense of humor that brought joy to those blessed to know her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Hinegardner.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Grant Lowman and wife Jill of Valdese; her niece and nephews, who were like her children, Nathan Lowman and wife Holly, Whitney Stewart and husband Matthew, and Richard Hinegardner; and her great-nieces and nephews, who were like her grandchildren, Haven Stewart, Sage Stewart, Ian Stewart, Sawyer Lowman, Brooks Lowman and Destiny Hinegardner; she is also survived by her special cousins and caregivers who she loved dearly, Sylvia Epley, Brenda Hinegardner, Samantha Hinegardner, Dale Icard and Pam Jordan.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday December 14, 2025 at Abee’s Chapel Baptist Church, with Rev. Tony Land and Rev. Eldon Hinegardner officiating. Interment will follow at Abee’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Abee’s Chapel Baptist Church in Connelly Springs.
