Mrs. Karen Tiffney Bigger Maltry, 49, of Morganton, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at UNC Blue Ridge Morganton, following a period of declining health.

Tiffney was born on January 21, 1977, in Broward County, FL, to the late Ralph Eugene Bigger and Karen Lea Barker Bigger. She was employed as an LPN for various hospitals and health centers throughout Burke, Catawba and Rutherford County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Bigger and Gretchen Bigger.

Surviving is her beloved husband Charles Glenn Maltry of the home, one son, Joshua Bryan Giesler, a stepson, Joshua Amos Maltry, and one brother, Ralph Ellery Bigger.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with Rev. Marvin Wiley officiating. Private inurnment will follow at a later date.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
