Karter James Hensley

Karter James Hensley, fourteen months, of Morganton, passed away suddenly at home on November 7, 2025.

Karter was born August 25, 2024 in Burke County, the son of Samuel James Hensley and Gracie Kay Hensley.

He is preceded in passing by a great grandfather, Robert Cook; grandparents, Howard “Meathead” Cook and Mary and Russell Seagle; uncles, Austin David Seagle and Robert Cook, Jr.; and an aunt, Rebecca Cook.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include grandparents, Karen Renee Hildebran, Amanda Reed, David Hensley, Jr., Erica Lyons, and Sandra Cook; great-grandmother, Mary Snow; aunts and uncles, Justin Seagle, John Seagle, Bryson LeFevers, Sierra Anthony, Somer Seagle, and Kristina Buff; and numerous cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 2 PM at Shining Light Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Castle officiating. Interment will follow the service at Burke Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 1 PM to 2 PM.
