Kathy Colleen Watson 72, born September 28, 1953, died peacefully on September 27, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loved ones, after a period of declining health.

She was the daughter of the late Jewel Thomas Watson and Marion Leonard Watson. Kathy had many enjoyments and hobbies from being a collector of many trinkets, glassware, and dolls; to attending motorcycle rallies, taking care of her Camaro, and playing online games with her friends. She enjoyed going to Cherokee and sitting in the casino for hours gambling or just relaxing with a cigarette in one hand and a Sundrop in the other. But most of all she had a great love for her family and being the matriarch of setting up the family dinners.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Watson; son, Garry Dean Lineberry Jr.; her grandson, Bryant Howard, and many other wonderful family and friends.

She is survived by her partner, Johnny Brank – who she shared 26 loving years with; her sister, Ann Evans; son, James Lineberry and spouse Natalie; daughters, Kathryn Johnson and spouse Mike; and Deanna Charlie Cunningham and partner Alan; stepdaughter, Amber Pierce and spouse John; and stepson, Johnathan Brank and partner Sara. Also surviving are her grandchildren that she adored and loved, Jackie Cunningham (Dom), Caitlyn Underwood (Josiah), Megan Cooper (Nick), Michaela Hand, Zeke Pierce (Hannah), Lincoln Pierce, Alex Pierce, Jocelyn; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Paizley, Tatum, Coltan, Lillie, Joelle, Arya, Baron, Ella, and Colson; and several nieces and nephews..

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
