Kenneth “Dale” Gragg, 80, of Granite Falls, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2026 following a period of declining health.

Dale was born April 15, 1946 in Avery County, a son of the late Kathleen Gragg and grandson of the late Rosavelt Gragg. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Martha, and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In his spare time, he liked to play golf, and he loved racing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by four siblings, Mike Green, Patricia Crump, Linda Gragg, and Maxine Nicols.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Martha Philyaw Gragg; three children, Paula Gragg Ervin and husband Alan, Shelly Gragg Audrey and husband Allen, and Kenneth Shane Gragg and wife Andreina; nine grandchildren, Ashley Crowder, Kirsten Richardson, Shana Koning, Bradley Dula, Brandon Ervin, Katlyn Setser, Brianna Bryson, Jace Lackey, and Ava Gragg; fourteen greatgrandchildren, Austin, Vega, Talan, Logan, Conner, Dale, Nova, Jude, Iroc, Ada, Leyton, Paxton, Malaki, and Brynlee; two siblings, Maggie Williams (Ralph) and Joyce Crowe (Monty); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Connelly Springs Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Aaron Causby officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the United States Navy.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory is assisting the family.
