Kevin Eugene Huffman

Mr. Kevin E. Huffman, 64, of Hickory, passed away on Friday September 12, 2025, at Catawba Valley Medical Center, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Huffman was born August 6, 1961, in Catawba County, a son of the late Jerry Donald and Annie Faye Setzer Huffman. Kevin was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church and the Pink Heals NC Foothills Project. He loved to ride horseback and motorcycles and was considered to be a jack of all trades. He was employed in the construction industry, doing welding and anything else that needed to be done.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a number of aunts and uncles.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Darlene Johnson Huffman of the home, sisters, Denise Huffman Shook and husband Michael of Conover, Jessica Frederick and husband, Matthew of Hickory and adopted grandchildren, Abel Frederick, Leah Frederick and Kate Frederick and two uncles, Robert Setzer (Gloria) of Granite Falls and Lewis Setzer (Lala) of Hickory. Also surviving are his pride and joy, his canine companions, Rawhide and Red and feline companion, tumbleweed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday September 27, 2025, at St Stephens Lutheran Church in Hickory, with Rev. David Ziehr and Shea Pennington officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at St. Stephens Lutheran Church
