Larry Gene Prevette, 64, of Morganton, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, following a brief illness.

Larry was born March 30, 1962, in Morganton, a son of the late Avril and Kathryn Brown Prevette. He enjoyed tending to his flowers and took great pleasure in listening to all types of music. Larry was also a fan of hot rods and especially enjoyed grilling, which was his favorite pastime.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rita White.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixteen years, Vickie Austin Prevette; son, Derrick Prevette (Mandy); daughter, Keila Prevette; stepdaughter, Mistey Shirley; grandchildren, Jasper Prevette, Hope Prevette, Bryson Prevette, Jazlynn Britt, Jaziah Britt, and Jillian Britt; and his beloved fur baby, Storm “Pup-Pup.”

A Gathering of Friends will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
