Lewis David Glazebrook, 85, of Hickory, passed away on Friday July 17, 2026, at the Greens of Viewmont, after winning his battle with cancer.

Mr. Glazebrook was born February 24, 1941, in Caldwell County, a son of the late Lewis and Cinderella Price Glazebrook. David was a member of Celia Creek Baptist Church in Lenoir and retired from the maintenance department of Case Farms. He enjoyed working on his cars and could fix almost anything. He loved all animals, especially his cats. But most of all he loved the Lord with all his heart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelvy Charles Glazebrook, a son, Jeffery David Glazebrook, a brother, Steve Glazebrook and two sisters, Ann Clark and Dawn Story.

Those left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Shanda Lingerfelt and husband Shawn “WINGMAN” of the home and Vickie Smith and husband Glenn of Morganton. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Summer Duncan, Shawn Smith, Tiffany Smith, Skyler Lingerfelt, and Aydan Lingerfelt and six great-grandchildren. Siblings, Delores Nickolson (Bobby), Robert Glazeborook (Judy), Larry Glazebrook (Lou), Judy Clark, Kay Edwards (Hal) and sister-in-law, Kathy Smith Glazebrook.

Funeral Services for Lewis David Glazebrook will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday July 25, 2026, in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, with Rev. Bradley Crump officiating. Interment will follow in the Celio Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.
