Mrs. Lucille Heavner Burns, 98, of Lenoir, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the Shaire Center of Lenoir, following a period of declining health.
Lucille was born on Mar 17, 1927, in Burke County to the late Beulah Heavner Barnes. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker, and was a longtime member of Rock Chapel Church of God in Granite Falls.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Earl H. Burns Sr. and her son Earl Burns Jr.
Surviving is her daughter, Brenda Alley and husband Ted of Lenoir and a daughter in-law, Lou Ann Burns of Lenoir. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Steven Burns and wife Megan of Connelly Springs, Lena Burns GeFellers and husband Wade of Greenville, TN, and two great-grandchildren, Lawson and Nellie Burns.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with Rev. Larry Burns officiating. Entombment will follow at the Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
